“Growing up, gardening for me was mowing the lawn, weeding the beds, and planting flowers and shrubs my parents bought! It was not until after my husband and I bought our first home, that I became intrigued about gardening and wanted to learn as much as I could. The URI Master Gardeners’ “Gardening with the Masters Tour did just that! From that weekend visiting numerous gardens and asking many questions as well as taking the Master Gardener class months later, fueled the love I have for gardening. It is my solace and my happy place. Regardless of what I am doing in my yard: planting, weeding, walking around, smelling the flowers, and seeing the bees and insects, I have peace and tranquility. It is a calming for me, and it enables me to share my love for gardening with family, friends, and the community.”
